Poems of Sudhir Kundi
Few General Poems written by Sudhir Kundi :
Nothing is in my hand
Nothing is in my hand,
There’s nothing I control
He’s in my thoughts my actions
In my mind my soul.
Why do I choose to seat him,
In such places full of dirt?
Though he’s staring at me
I refuse to see his hurt.
I smile when he smiles
I think that I somehow pleased
His ever-increasing efforts
That I have somehow eased
He placed this worthless stone
Amongst you diamonds great
An act of divine benevolence
For I did not deserve this fate
This nothing is everything
I came to understand
Bless me I learn to value
Nothing is in my hand.

Battle between the Mind and Soul
Even though my eyes are closed, I know the sun is there
And though parents may scold us, we know it’s coz they care
I know when I have hurt myself; I need not see the plaster
Then why do I see the all-pervading, only when I see my master.
Have I forgotten to feel his presence, have I silenced my inner voice?
When his creation is dancing with life, why do I but stand and rejoice?
His language is the language of love, but I’ve forgotten how to speak
He’s hidden himself in his creation, and I lack the will to seek!
He plays and watches our reactions, he’s smarter then he looks
He’s as great as he is humble, not containable in holy books.
He reveals himself on occasions but just as quickly disappears
I forget him in my laughter, and blame him for my tears.
The question is not are you happy, but do you constantly feel this way
Do small things quickly annoy you, are you troubled day by day
Each day should be perfect for our master is perfect, maybe we have forgotten
The sweet is sweet regardless; it’s our teeth which are rotten.
So if we are happy then the smile he smiles is one which shows he’s proud,
And if we are not, then we need to reflect, for our inner voice is shouting aloud
That, listen to me; I’m the God within, I know right from wrong
But in the battle between the mind and soul, Baba ji the mind is strong.
No one knows which way they’ll fall when walking on fences,
In life we balance on decisions and fall on consequences
One wrong stop, one small slip and we will find
A completely different direction with one change of mind.
The mind overpowers the soul and it is left silently watching by the side
And in the battle between the mind and soul, the conscience slowly died.
I need the conscience alive; I need to remember the Lord
For I’ve tried listening to the mind and to continue I can’t afford.
Oh master with your grace alone, my mind can be defeated
And the contamination in my life with your smile can be treated.
If it means mind and soul should merge as one; then fulfil my goal
So you are forever present, smiling in my soul.
