Last night my Lord, I had a dream…
One that I dream every night,
That I’d woken up in the morning
And done everything just right.
I did not swear I did not shout,
Or even say…
‘What you talking about?’
Every time that temptation came close
I remembered you and prayed,
I smiled at those I had not liked
Because even them you had made
I saw you before me
Everywhere in everything
No hatred or anger inside me
My heart wanted to sing
No envy entered my head
Or jealousy of any kind
Life was a whole lot better Lord,
For I’d given you my Mind
I served without expectation
I argued with not a soul
I was with you all that day my Lord,
You made me feel quite whole…
